What are you guys using for Welch plug sealant? I've tried clear nail polish, which lasted a while then blue thread locker which lasted a day. I've heard seal all is good and I've used it before for other things and it worked good. I know seal all is supposed to be gas resistant.

No sealant is required. I would not be putting anything that runs the risk of dissolving and getting into the idle ports and/or the high speed nozzle/check.

That's odd though, they typically don't need any sealant. RTV would be one of my only choices.

    Lol!

I've never used any sealant. Get a replacement and make sure you expand it fully when you "punch" it in.

I'll look and see if I have another carb kit for it. If not I'll use fingernail polish til I order some. Lowes and Home Depot did not have seal all.

I don't have a carb kit for it.

Here is what it looks like.

I put clear nail polish on it for a temporary fix.

I've saved them before. Take a punch and lightly tap the high spots down until it loosens up. Once it's out, re-form the crown in it and try it again.

Fwiw, when I used nail polish, I used it on the edges and not on top.

It is running now. If I take it out and damage it I'll be up the creek. I put the nail polish around the edge. The crazy thing is the blue thread locker did not last anytime and Stihl recommends that or at least they used too.
