Got a call this morning from the neighboor, he asked me to help get a tree out standing against the powerlines. Dont know how many volt there is on but it must be a lot!
Pulled a rope around the tree and just pulled it away before i started to saw, well as u can see i got to have the wood again.
Hhhhmmmm i love free firewood! I got the feeling i cant get enough wood in before the snow comes.

    Have a nice day all

I really hope the snow will stay away for a few more weeks, got about 100 trees to cut down on the far side of the property, that shoulth be an intresting operation getting it all out to the house.

If it's the high voltage lines the power company should take care of it, if it's the low voltage lines on your side of the transformer then it's your responsibility.
If it is the bare high voltage lines you should no mess with it, it can turn you into a french fry in a second.
Sounds like you go it OK but something to keep in mind.

Hej , i know its high voltage line, and i am very affraid of it!
First i made sure i pulled the whole tree away, and yes it is the responsibility of the power company but i dont want to get without electric again, it happes here so much! It takes them a long time to come out here and fix it. And i dont want my beer to be warm again after a day hauling wood!

At least the tree wasn't that large so you could handle it. Glad you got it down okay and it is good firewood.

Hot birch should burn well in a year or 2:)

    +14 on be careful
Using a rope to pull it away

Birch is so wet & conductive
it’s a wonder it didn’t trip the power line fuse

    Nice score

Was it making contact with the wire? Was it burning at all?
I know everyone else has said it too and the deed has already been done, but be careful!!!! Not messing with it is the best idea, even though it takes a long time for a crew to come out the wait is better than months in the hospital or the worse alternative!!! Being a journeyman line mechanic I’ve been to numerous calls involving people thinking “I’ve got this” who didn’t have it and things went south fast! Luckily never a fatality thank god! As for thinking a fuse must have blown and even a worse mistake of thinking it’s blown so the line must be out is an even worse mistake!!! Never assume they are out regardless of if your lights are out, you heard/saw a fuse blow or the wire is broken or down, etc. I could go on but you guys get the point, not trying to be a jerk about it but there is a huge amount of respect for the stuff I have gained over the years as well as trying to inform others. :D:handshake::yes:

Just coming in contact with the tree could have been a shocking experience, damp ropes could be a problem also.
