Stihl blower help

    stihl SH86c
    All of asudden it
    Doesn’t come up to RPM
    Went thru carb, fuel
    Tried to tune
    Got book out , it says if above don’t help check muffler
    Found this:

    Can I remove the screen
    Or should I try to clean it?
    (Soaking in gasoline now)
    Will I need a new muffler gasket?

    Gas didn’t cut the gunk
    Tapping on it , fine carbon dust falls out
    I accidentally put a hole in the exhaust screen
    When trying to clean
    Runs better than ever

    You can break the carbon loose by heating the muffler and screen with a propane torch . Make sure the is no fuel residue ...

    Throw it away. I have two muffler screens laying around somewhere if I were to need them to cut on Gov't land. Otherwise they're trash.
