I thought about it! It was an outdoor pizza oven/ pool heater but burned an outrageous amount of wood with little heating
One of the first things I'd do would be to throw one wail of a party open to all FHC members!!!! None would go away unhappy for sure and it would last several days. We might even cut a little bit of wood...if we have the time an inclination. We would no doubt purchase more land and probably build a large log home but we would still heat with wood!
Oh ya if i won the big $ i would order in 3 logtruck loads of white oak, and a truck load each of hickory, maple and locust just to have some different varieties of wood. Been dreaming about a mill for awhile, i would buy a really nice mill and fab my own infeed and auto stacker. You get it have FUN FUN FUN! Also i would by at least 3 new utvs, a couple sleds and yes land with TIMBER and fishing on it. And have a blast designing and building my dream home on the land.
I would still hoard. Being retired, hoarding gives me something to do that I enjoy and is my workout. It just bugs me to see unprocessed wood around. Definitely more updated equipment and saws.
Amen! I could only imagine that I would get to clear land for a bigger house and function to keep wood in the sun. More flat areas and likely make sure they are well drained.
Aaarrr arrr arrr! You’d be the REAL TOOL MAN! I share the same wants, its hard not to think about being a sawyer when you could get real creative about what to buy and etc. wouldn’t it be fun to just cut wood for countertops and floors and the basic “build a house” wood. Would love to spread the wealth, make someone else happy who doesn’t have the same luck.
It's not about how much you make, it's about how much you keep. I would rather pass on an inheritance or do fun things (one is cutting wood) with the family, than give more $ to the power or fuel companies. We do yearly National Park vacations that are mostly paid for with what we would spend to heat our place. Grand Canyon, Sequoia, Arches, Canyonland, Channel Islands, Death Valley and many others. We would still head out to the woods, cut firewood and shoot a few squirrels. But if we're talking Power ball type winnings, there would be a 6-8 person turbo prop in the future. So I'm sure our wood use would drop way down.
