My coworker is in the market of a pellet stove for his 1000 sq ft house however his budget is $1200. I suggested he tries the Depot or Lowes and look into the Summer's Heat/Englander. Last year I got a good deal on a Summers Heat 2,200-sq ft unit which i like very much. Any thoughts or suggestions? thanks in advance Kat
If it were me, I think I would be checking Craigslist for a used Harmon. I can fix my own stoves so finding one that might need a bit of work would probably be a possibility. I wonder what a show room stove discount would be?

Pelpro Pellet Stove 50,000 BTU, EPA-Certified, Model# PP130 | Corn, Pellet Multi-Fuel Heaters| Northern Tool + Equipment Extension hopper Pelpro Hopper Extension 200-Lb. Capacity, Fits Pelpro PP130 Pellet Stove, Model# PPHE200 | Corn, Pellet Multi-Fuel Heaters| Northern Tool + Equipment
I am not too familiar with those Pelpro units. But my recommendation would be to get at least a 60# hopper. Really 80+ is where i would feel comfortable. Otherwise there will be times when you dont make it home in time and the fire will be out.
yes, I bought my used Harman P61a for $1200 and a non OEM hopper extension for $80 for a total of about 100 lbs. Like IHP says, it does not run out of pellets when it is on all day!
dang that pelpro pp130 with the hopper ext. makes for an eye sore, no way that would sit in my house where it's visible, fine for in a basement .
If it is installed on a raised hearth and you are short then you may need a bucket truck to help pour in a bag of pellets! LOL
Hello I really do like the Older Pelpro Pellet Stoves because they are simple and have an excellent white Nylon High Temp Top and bottom auger bearings that work extremely well! The new Accutron IV control panel works with a T-Stat on Hi/Low or Auto-On/Off Or full manual mode!! Here are pics of one I just Refurbished!!!
Here are some reviews of the New Pelpro Some good and some issues. Amazon.com: Customer reviews: Pelpro Pellet Stove - 50,000 BTU, EPA-Certified, Model# PP130 I still like the older ones with the New Accutron IV control panel.
