Right at the freezing mark on the back porch thermometer. I need to get the boiler cleaned out, the exhaust pipe cleaned and resealed, and get the Wood Gun fired up sometime soon.

35 degrees this morning, some pine coals in the new stove, and the smell of curing paint in the air. Nice to wake up to a warm house on a cold morning for a change!

Started a few hawthorn sticks with a chunk of arborvitae (white cedar). Great kindling and a common dump find.

38 outside. Started it with pine, now burning some uglies in the ash and red maple flavors. It'll get to the mid 60s today so I won't even load it when I leave.

Mid-30's here. Nice little fire going in the stove Burning whatever came off the rack. Sticks of maple, oak, and bl. Nice and toasty.

Just saw on the news wherel they're making snow in Killington vt, at the ski area.

    Bring it on!

No burning this morning, the house temp is comfortable, I haven't managed to get thermostats around here yet but I closed some windows and let the stove do its thing on mild. Certainly nice when it can just die down and hold heat. Outside is 46. We're expecting a few torrential rain and wind storms over this week. Hoping to just ride it out and keep the house nice and dry.

Sitting at +1 C (34 F) at the moment and a little bit of poplar chasing the chill away.

24°F was the low overnight. The higher summits had snow overnight - still there. Kicked on the pellet stove this morning and again a little bit ago. Slight warm up later in the week.

No fire today. It was a bit chilly this morning then the wind picked up and blew in some warm again. Hard to believe but we hit 70 again.

Gonna get down into the mid 40s tonight. It was slowly starting to get cool in the house, so I have a load of the only non hot burning dry pine I've ever seen in the stove.
