    Perhaps too prepared....
Yep on the double wall. I just noted the deviances of the thermometer. Says 2% above 32F so I think that's anywhere between 8 and 12° difference if I am measuring 400 to 600° on the sweet spot of fire.

Single wall pipe is about half what the actual inside temperature is, so if a single wall is reading 300 your actual temperature it would be 600.
On double wall pipe the only way I know to get any kind of a reading is to have a probe thermometer installed

Funny how you mention a probe. The guy who installed said probes get coated. I'm thinking that's something I had been wondering about! At least I do have a ir and can check on this thing anytime.

The probes are easy to install just drill a little hole and put them in, easy to remove and clean if you need to

Is that an EPA stove? Guy doesn't know how to use swear words. SOB is when something goes wrong; yet, it appears that the stove was doing what he wanted it to do. Confusing to say the least.

Well, just let me say this. Any time I have said "Son of a beech" it was not because I was happy. And when I say "Bloody Heil" it is not because of something good either.

I went to the fair today with family. I could not believe the number of people that did not know to turn their phone sideways to take a proper video. And I guess all photos are now in portrait mode. It is so ludicrous to see people trying to take group shots in portrait mode as if they don't know to turn the bloody phone sideways.

That’s because you aren’t fully acclimated to your environment.
If one of us yanks says, “that car is sick” we don’t mean that it’s got pneumonia.

I have never heard that expression about a car. Is it your vernacular?
