Welcome to the land of BTU's. Though I like snow, not sure I could deal with - 0F Temps and being bundled up like a astronaut.
Thank you GrJfer! O* is not so bad...no bugs! In the interior where I live we don't have all that much humidity esp. when it gets cold. They don't cancel school until the toilets freeze. Hockey is canceled at -40* the sweat starts to accelerate frost bite. The kids don't mind, they are more mad when its canceled. Cold helps keep them motivated!
Welcome Rope! Alaska is only state I have not been too. father had a friend (air force) that was stationed there. I always enjoyed his visits great pictures too. so what do you heat with? what's in your tool collection you know the basics..
Thanks CB VT! You should come and see Alaska...you wont be disappointed. I transferred here from northern Maine, near Presque Isle. As far as collectibles, antique hand tools, some one and two man cross cuts. A fire back in '12 diminished what I had. I have been slow to replace the lost. Not much in Alaska in the way of antique tools, most here keep things until they can no longer fix them.
Thank you Dave! Tok here. That is from the Tok to Eagle from of 1995. Fire cured and standing dead for 22 years burns real nice!.

Yello from Washington! Hope all is well on your end. Im busy at home while the installers install my stove and pipe today. Great time to get to know you and hang out here all day.
I cut some birch and season it 3 years. But don’t cut anything bigger than 10 inches so I don’t split it
Welcome to the forum Tom. Near Tok it does not sound like you and bogydave will be cutting together. That is a long ways. I well remember going through your area but sadly it has been a long time ago. We would love to return to your beautiful state one of these days but not sure it will happen. No matter; we have the memories still.
