I have posted the first two pics of my son's fireside before on the "other" forum. Thought you all might enjoy them and the new, latest pic. First my grandson and his dog, then my grandaughter in only her style, and the last, my grown son after a really hard day at work. Aauh, the power and warmth of the fireside.
It is hard to get up off the floor once you're down. My back creaks more than the wood floor. Nice set up there.
I had a German Shorthair Pointer that did that. House I lived in had electric baseboard heat. Come in the house after being outside a bit and it smells like burning hair. Dog was in the living room sleeping with his back shoved into the baseboard.
One of my licking labs licked the stove glass just after the stove started up. She didn't make a sound, just now keeps her licking to other things. She didn't get burned that I could see.
He has one. It's made of cast iron. Certainly wouldn't be my first choice but it seems to work for him. Whenever he goes over there that's the way he lays. We have a Blue Heeler that actually slides her head under the stove! Crazy dogs. They also like to align themselves under the air stream of the FP insert.
Our hearths are by far the most popular places in the house this time of year as well......for the whole family. Who'd have ever thought that hardwood floor or a stone hearth would be such a great place to take a nap! Great pics and memories there, Chief!!
