The stove was on CL and I just happened to be looking around. This thing looks mammoth. Poster says it fits logs 22" but didn't feature an open door picture. Looks like its a half and half where half the stove sticks out the other sits in the fireplace.
In 83 I heated with a Solar Key. Looked very similar to that one. It had a reburner set of plates in it. It was a great stove. Was real heavy and very well built. What you see in the pic is pretty much all there is to it. Nothing in the fireplace other than the stove pipe.
No model displayed. Most of the time if someone happens to put a wood stove or insert on CL they don't know about it much. We on the other hand get pretty involved in our stoves.
I was thinking I was seeing like the blower and baffle plates then part of a large firebox. The post said 22 inch splits but not the dimensions of the firebox itself. I thought it was pretty cool with the design, giving off a heavy metal feel to it with no glass. How long were your burns in this thing? Not bad for 200 you think?
If that is an actually photo of the stove, then I would agree it is a good buy for $200. I looked for a used stove on CL and all I saw for $200 was stoves that were completely rusted from sitting out in the rain for years.
Definitely was looking great as far as the outside goes, firebrick notwithstanding. Ive seen those stoves where they look over 20 years old, no glass, probably can't open/shut the door due to rust and all that jazz. CL may read:" good condition may need some tlc, get it while it's still warm out, WINTER IS COMING!" I wouldn't pass up on this thing but they did say "bring STRONG help"
