I'd have to do the comparison between different years and different drivetrains to be certain, but I'd be shocked if the 10 speed axle ratios are not slightly lower numerically than the 6 SPD models.

Hmmm. CVTs need to get a lot better than they are now in order to be used in any truck. Maybe in a Ridgeline, but that's not a truck.

The 6R80 was double overdrive. The 10R80 is triple overdrive. The 6r was .69 in 6th and the 10r is .63 in 10th.

Yep, as Machria said, it is very close. And I have 57.4 mile (one way) trip to work.. I only drive it there one day a week (Tomorrow/Every Friday).

That may or may not be true ;)

And I have an Uncle and a very close friend that own a 2016 and 2017 with 2 different Ecoboost engines. 2.7 and 3.5 and neither get close to 22 AVG. My pic was average of our trip. Which a lot of it was in town Outer Banks driving (when talking hours over a weeks time vs driving there).

The EcoDiesel is the real deal. But that's why they are recalling them like the VW TDI Diesel. Getting mileage like that sisny fair

IDK. You may be able to get by with a higher axle ratio. It has a lower low gear than the 6 speed. 7th is 1:1 were 4th in 6 speed was 1.14:1 With the triple over drive you might be able to get by with a 3.31 were before you would have wanted a 3.73 rear axle, which is somewhat dependent on the engine.

A true light truck? Like a Dakota, Colorado) I still hope they wouldn't do that. Thats a stretch for anything that will pull any weight.

The Dodge Eco isn't really a light truck. Towing capacity is 10,000. But the payload is 1,900 w/bags. I don't have bags and pulled my father's camper which is 10,500 dry ( and it had water in it, tools, blankets, food, etc..) So it was about 11,000-11,500). Power was fine. But the tongue weight without bags hurt. So my next purchase is a set of bags.

My dad has a 2010 Dodge 2500 w/ a Cummins. It doesn't squat at all.

The only downfall to this truck is it has coils instead of leaf springs. Without air bags? It cant handle weight for chit.

You need a weight distribution hitch with that kind of weight.

Dad had one in the tool conpartment, but I thought it was less than 10,000#. He uses it all the time. I only took it 5 miles down the road and it was scary..

    I'll use it next time.

I would hope. But much like the VW RID, it will prob have a drop in mileage. I love in an E check free area. So I don't have to return mine.

Probably. It got retuned in 2017, and halted from new sales across the board in ram and grand Cherokee lineups and couldn't sell them due to not meeting EPA standards. That took a couple of months.

Ford's coming out with their diesel in a f150. That 3.0 has been in several rovers that haven't yet been in trouble with the EPA .
For most, the higher costs in fuel, upfront costs, and upkeep of diesels, just doesn't make sense compared to gas.
You can, and many do, get well over 22 mpg, in a 4x4 supercrew ecoboost. Some don't though. There's a lot of factors that go into this.

They make a huge difference, even a light load. You might have to buy a different shank to make it work on your truck.

Hey. Is The Outer Banks warm enough in April for a vacation? 70s-80s?

Not typically. They obviously don't get as cold as up this way, and things warm up a lil quicker, but not that quick. You would need to go down to Florida to get those kind of temps in April.
We were down to OBX a few weeks before Dex and the weather was actually very similar to here in NEO...it did get pretty hot there right after we left though.

It's typically not that warm in Orlando Florida at that time. Go north a thousand miles and it definitely not going to be that warm.
