It was the classic hand me down car, from affluent suburban parents to teenage children, in my neck of the woods (greater Washington DC).
They were considered the "spacious stationwagon with a turbo". I don't know about you all but stories came out of these cars. 16 was a great year for me. My dad and I were doing more drivers ed. It was my turn to drive to Iowa. We're in Montana just finished getting some gas if I recall,My grandma is in the back asleep(her car)... my dad goes quietly "you're gonna make a left turn, onto the freeway ramp and you're gonna put the petal on the floor" well the next stop was a...shorter one.
These cars typically have good backstories! And if not, we'll circle the campfire and create one that fits, right?
It *can* be done, but there's a high chance the load would be too much for the 30yo engine + tranny. I'd rather make a few more trips or involve the BIL and his truck.
And you thought I was hauling firewood! Ha!! Just needed winter traction for the RWD on my wagon! Uf da!
After reading the title, I clicked thinking I was gonna see garages packed full of old muscle cars...
I Love it! I transported a full grown Ram sheep in the back of a Ford Focus once, which is quite the story in itself.
