Car turned left in front of me. I hit the passenger side window/post.
Smashed my glasses on my left eye. Looks bad.
Bad shoulder bruise. Sprained both wrists.
Concussion. Broke my helmet in two places. Saved my life.
I remember the guy starting to turn into me and bracing for impact.
    Probably why nothing was broken.
No memory of anything again until in the ER getting preped for CT scans.
Nothing broken. Probably will never get recall of the actual accident.
This was not my first rodeo.
I'm like an old rooster, scarred and stringy.

Trashed the front wheel and left shifter on my bike. Hope that is all.

Wow, I'm glad you're alive! Sounds like your upper body and head got the worst of it. Lucky no bones broke. And good job your wood for the winter is all stacked! I hope medical care is not a difficulty for you.

Yep, I've had other cars turn infront of me while I had a green light. Did 30-40K per year for too long. Interestingly my two longest tread marks from skidding to avoid a car turning illegally infront of me both had a quick stop, glanced my way, and did it anyway, one was 55mph and the other was 45 mph....

justdraftn I lived above Horsetooth for over 20 years, the reservoir road was my main route to work every day. It went bananas after that one cyclist that won big races (sorry, don't remember his name). I saw many cycling accidents and unfortunately a body bag on one too. BE CAREFUL! Heck, growing up in Boulder, I was even paranoid to drive anywhere near CU campus and it was like frogger avoiding the students, most drivers are not as aware and now add texting etc... YIKES.

PS, the body bag was a man that rode around construction signs that said road closed, lost traction on the gravel from road repair-sad.

Y'all must know each other because I can't determine from the above discourse whether the accident occurred on a bicycle or motorcycle----call me slow---but, hey! Call me!

justdraftn we are hoping for a quick recovery for you. Having rode a bike for so long I know how quick these things can happen. Sadly, most motorists dislike those who are on bicycles and/or have no respect for them and their lives. Be aware always!

Oh the memories---I was riding to and from my work place years ago in the city and hesitated before crossing 3 lanes at an intersection. I neglected to see a car in the middle turn lane and he neglected to see me both of us moving---I slammed into him broadside and wasn't hurt physically just my pride. Bike had a wobbly wheel. But what I recall most is laying in the middle of the road flat out and thinking I can't get much lower than this, things can only get better from here----ha! And they did. And I ride all the time still. Get back in the saddle justdraftn it will get better!
