The frost warnings are skipped and they went straight to a freeze warning for the next two nights.

50 and dropping now.

 

34 degrees with the wind chill, burr. 15" of annual rain normal standing at 26" now.

 

I lit off the 30 in the workshop this morning for just a "get the chill out" episode!

 

52 degrees with a misting rain coming down.

 

its going to be a brisk 80 degrees today. Should I dig out some of the locust?

 

62f right now going up to 79f some more warm weather

 

Mid 40's north of KC today. Wife gave me the "go" signal. We are have our first fire of the season. Red oak with a bit of cherry and one stick of Hedge for good luck.

 

What temp is cool?

 

31 on the temp this morning. Must have been a few spots cooler than that-here and there.

 

Had my second overnighter in a row. Last night was a few degrees below freezing, and now sitting just above freezing. Supposed to get to +11 C (52 F) today.

 

In years past, the OWB was already lit for the duration at this point in Oct. No need to hurry, here.

 

51°F this evening in St. Louis. I just got done watching the Blues beat the Rangers. I have all the windows open with a nice cool breeze blowing through, while burning some red maple in the fireplace to take the chill off. My favorite part of the year!!

It seems like evening fires are becoming the norm around my place along with a few overnighters thrown in for good measure. The temps look like they will drop a bit over the next week or so with snow and on and off through the forecast. Im enjoying sitting in front of the stove loaded to the top with doug fir.

 

Upper 20's now. Should drop a couple more before the days warm up.

Bridges may be icy this morning for my drive. And the deer are starting to move around a bit more.

 

Didn't light a fire on the coldest night two nights ago cause I fell asleep watchin tv. Couldn't resist last night though so I lit an uglies fire. Have to get that floor insulation ash built back up right? The whole family was like even the 2 yr old! House was at 67 and only going to get cooler with the low of 35 that was coming. Woke up to a comfy 70 this morning. Probably let it go out till at least friday now though. High of 60 low only 50 for the next 2 day's. With a 37 low pedicted Friday. Then after that steady temps around 60 and lows in the upper 40s. Might be a random fire lit here and there with the NG furnace doing most of the overnight heating.
