Up and at em. Looks like rain most of the day today. I've got to try to get a fire going to burn away a large pile of brush. My brother said we had a decent amount of rain here the other day while we were away too. That tells me I am good to burn it today.:fire:

Raining hard now. Let's hope it doesn't put the fire right out. Still going.

Yeah, I have Carr and Luck in my big $$ league. So I needed a QB. I was offered Ben for something stupid on my bench. I declined and went with Phillip Rivers. I'll take 3 TD's over 5 interceptions any day.

Since they called for 1-2 inches of rain today, we put in some wood yesterday. We put in enough pine to fill a 4x4 rack and enough iffy hardwood (almost a 4 x 4 rack) so once it turns cold we're ready.

The iffy hardwood was stuff that I kept out of some hardwood I moved, it will go in at night with some pine so we should have coals for the morning.

I think we received well over an inch of rain overnight, I'll check the rain gauge once it stops.

looks like the rain and humidity are going to keep me from working outside today! I had to run to Home Depot to pick up some grout for my hearth pad, and it rained so hard that I couldnt see most of the way there! Just waiting for the grout to dry now, had to break down and kick on the AC, the air was getting a bit thick in the house.

Reloaded the big fire again by hand. But it is really coming down again. I don't know if it will survive this round of rain. Oh well. We need the rain, that is for sure. We were very dry here. This will also mean the trail work will be on hold for a while. Good thing this is not snow! I think 2" rain would be 2' of snow. o_OYikes. Don't need that now.

I hate it when it happens, but that guy has got to go. There will be no peace in the hen house until he is dealt with. I lost way to many birds to those critters.

Got the load of hickory cut and split and stacked at the cottage. Then, took the boat out for the season and raised the dock and boat lift in anticipation of ice next month. Burned some scrap wood, put the canoe away, cleaned the garage, spread some gravel, all this while I was planning out a woodshed build in my mind......12X6 should do nicely, Better build bigger than that!

All I'll say regarding the splitting of the hickory is good thing I have hydraulics!

No matter how big you build, you usually end up wishing it were bigger.

The neighbor has a shed that is something like 80 x 150...100% packed full...as in it makes a sucking sound when the doors are opened! I fantasize of turning him into that Hoarders TV show...or maybe American Pickers...they'd go nuts there!
