Yeah, most people oil around here. Just within the last couple of years have I seen the other stuff. Either way, I could have it done locally (amazingly enough!)

There's no real hard rule on when to undercoat - prior surface prep is best though, which means physical inspection of the frame underneath, removal of any scale rust, and prep for any internal frame rail application needed .. it's worth the extra bucks, to get a good inspection & surface prep.. Which is usually $100-250, depending on # hours of lift time needed.

For a multi-year application that will last, an epoxy-based product like POR-15 is best.

( If you do oil-undercoat, find a dirt road at the end of town on a dry day, and get some off-road time in to lock the oil undercoat to the frame.. )

That's not a problem, I run a dirt road every night headed to my evening job (only run it when dry - wet it is a rutted mess as it is a fairly popular shortcut).

That'll do it. When everything oiled looks covered in a even layer of road dirt, you're good to go !

Pellet stove passed inspection. There was even a tape measure involved in the process. Will be firing it up soon enough.

Fired her up as soon as I got home from work. Perfect pellet stove weather.

Really nice lively flame. A little louder than the EP, but not bad. Much more quiet than the West Point. Hey Skeet, lets bring on the cold!!

Manual lighting trick? He's been using super cedar but I just froze myself looking for them in the garage, and no hand sanitizer here. Did I see cotton balls in alcohol could be used (not sure how hot that gets)? Newspaper and and cardboard? Dry dead weeds from outside?

Propane torch handy? A few inches of pellets in the burn pot, and less < than a minute of flame should get them going quick.

You can soak pellets in rubbing alcohol. That is what I use in my burn pot when my igniter isn't working.

I would stick to the alcohol. The acetone i believe will burn off and dissipate much faster.....the pellets may not stay lit.
