Those saws are not bad but set too lean as others say and if running 50:1 many pistons probably scratch or seize, combined with other lack of maintenance.
Pretty much what I use, 3.2 oz per gallon. New saws, old saws doesn't matter, good oil, sharp chain, clean filters and common sense. I've never stuck or melted a piston.
Well I have a bunch of different oil cuz I pick it up wherever I'm at, if I have the 2.3 bottles I just put less than a gallon of gas in it,, then I have some 3.2 bottles and use a gallon of gas, then I have some quarts, for that I use the Ratio Rite cup, if I put more gas in the gallon can than I wanted I just put extra oil in it. It's probably never perfect but I know it's more oil than 50:1
Yep get the premix 50:1 (2.6oz bottle) gallon bottles and just put .8 gallons of gas to it and it's 40:1
Are they 2.6? I knew there were two point something but hey, I doubt if my mixes are ever perfect, I'm not a chemist and I'm mixing oil for a chainsaw close enough is good enough
Yea technically it's 2.56 oz per gallon for 50:1 . I think they just say 2.6? Then the larger one for 2.5 gallons would be 2.5 times that.
