Last 3 years I've done this. The wife wants more room in the garage for the winter. We have a lot of party's because our house is very warm for some reason in the winter :fire:.

So this year I'm trying this. Top covered.

It might be ugly stacking but it will burn. My youngest has the window so I didn't want to block her view. Stove is right through the door so the haul to the wood rack shorter. Only .75 of a cord but still have almost a face cord in the garage. Last year only burned 1 1/2 cords. I believe since I can come home for lunch I may burn more.;)

I like it! Do you get as much on the porch as you do In the garage?

I like bringing wood under cover for a few months or even a little longer..

I think it helps getting it really dry. Just my opinion.

Im guessing you only burn here and there to help heat the house...?

    Nothing wrong with that.

Burninating warm wood actually makes more positive BTUs to heat the house. See, just like burning seasoned wood, you don't need to waste the wood's BTUs drying the wood out, but instead of wasting BTUs warming the wood up, it throws more heat out. :handshake:

That's the way to go, I keep stocking a 1/4 cord or more on my porch to feed the stove. No one wants to go out the stacks every few hours in the snow day and night for a arm full of wood. I have no room in my cellar for any, and my garage is 35 feet from the house. So the front porch it is.
