this is the view from the 1/2 acre waterfront property the wife and I are looking at in St Croix. Hope to make the move in the next 2 years, so one more winter. 77-87 year round. Looks like a good place to spend the rest of our lives.
Sweet view. Love that aqua color of water. I here ya. Done with the winters & miss the ocean. Relocating to the coast...though not as good as what you've got there.
grew up on the water, born and raised on Long Island. Moved to Ohio in 1990, never missed the water. Not really going for the water per se, more the temps, but the water will be nice.
That's a real nice spot for sure. I could visit… but my head would explode if I couldn't live where there were 4 seasons… and one of em had mountains of snow… … I know, I know … I'll shut up now…

It does look like a great opportunity. I hope things work out for you! For me, I could not give up the seasons, my wife and I enjoy them too much. The smell of the leaves in the fall, snow in the winter, you know.
It looks wonderful, for a vacation spot. But for me, I get weirded out after a few weeks without mountains around. I need the breakup in the terrain. Plus, tsunamis. don't like those.
Enjoy, always good to have goals. Wife and I couldn't be away from our kids and grand kids for more than a week. I did a tour in Vietnam and a couple trips to Panama. Less than pleasant circumstances. Tropics are out for me. The good part is that we can have choices and the ability to not be impinged.
The wife and I visited St Croix back in 2009. Beautiful island and I could see myself living there perhaps driving a boat as a retirement job. 3 hour tour anyone?
I will go down and get the lay of the land then the rest of you can come down, we can cut and stack all the trees they need cleared. I doubt we could sell any wood though. I plan on doing something to keep busy, probably do some house rehabs, that's where I started. They have a Home Depot. Maybe home repair on the million dollar mansions on the east end. I will find something.

Were we able to manage such a move, the transition to a life with no firewood making and burning would be a wrenching change. For about a day or so. And then we would adapt. LOL. Very nice location.
