    I'm sorry for not being around much lately, guys and gals. ........been super busy. I just wanted to say Happy Anniversary to the best group of friends on the entire interweb, the FHC!!

    I hope all of you are well and I'm looking forward to the coming heating season, gonna be a great fall/winter here!!!

    I was just contemplating starting a thread to say how great this site is. I guess this one will do nicely.

    Not only are there forums here to discuss wood, wood stacking, tools, stoves, saws, and all the other things one would expect from a firewood site, there is also a lot of indirectly-related content and some totally unrelated content.

    I’ve really enjoyed the Colder here, what’s your temp, what ya burning thread; the Have you had a first fire poll; the Wooly Bear 2016 thread is fun; and of course, the funny pictures threads have been great. I’m not on Facebook, but I’m constantly checking FHC for updates.

    I love the way we can compare notes, get advice, and have a few laughs.

    And the people are great too.

    I was looking at the date in my Avatar 3 Oct. So many who joined those first few weeks are still here and posting on a regular basis.

    How many years do we have now? The same amount of years firewood storage Backwoods Savage and thewoodlands have on hand? Five years?!

    Some day we may get as many years as Scotty's supply is.o_O

I have fond memories of e-mails with Scotty Overkill when it was time to move to greener pastures.....lots of great family we have here.     I remember being nearly silent on the "other" site we all used to frequent and then my good buddy Ray messaged me and said he had something to tell me.
    He told me that this site had just gotten started and invited me to come be a part. I checked it out that nite (stalking of course) and then took the plunge.
    Scotty was the first to greet me and welcome me here. The rules were simple and since then it has been a great place to be. Thanks FHC!
