Of course a proper gentleman should have one economical and proper trike, and another that is not quite so proper.
Of course one could buy ten of the former for the price of one of the latter.

The Scorpion P6 only costs half as much as the T Rex and is reportedly faster:

If you drove 100 miles a day commuting to and from work you'd be driving something more economical than an F350.. It would cost me around $125.00 a week to drive a beast like that to work plus all the high cost maintenance.. I have only driven my F150 to work a few times in the last 6 years.. Not gonna hand my pay over to Mobil!

I use to drive 110 miles a day. Did it in my ranger 22-23mpg. I put think that fuel was $250/gallon then? That was 10 years ago.

It is a work truck so I often put over a 100 miles a day on it. 90% of the time I don't need the 'truck' capacity and just am using it to get to the job. A few years ago I bought a 2002 Honda Civic to use for commuting so I could leave the truck parked at the job or home. I got 40+ mpg but the numbers didn't justify keeping it around. Fixed costs of insurance registration and the time value of having money tied up in a third vehicle didn't make sense. And the less you use a vehicle the more that seems to go wrong with it... Tires rot, batteries die, calipers lock up etc.

Gotta call you on the comparison of the F350 side impact vs the sentra. Try sending the sentra into the pole like the f350 did. Huge difference between wrapping your truck around a fixed pole vs a wide flat side impact as seen on the sentra. Gotta compare apples to apples. Looks to me like there are a couple of elio salespeople on this thread.:emb:

Let's try not to turn this into a pizzing match over what everybody drives to work. Everybody has different needs and the ability to drive whatever you want/can afford is what makes this country worthwhile to begin with.

    Carry on.

I wonder if the Elio will fit in the bed of a Ford truck?

When Brian initially posted about the Elio I found it quite exciting and interesting.. You don't have to like it but it would be good if people encouraged the thinking behind this.. Something to consider, it will be American made and quite practical but the not the transportation for everyone.. It's about time we can drive a vehicle that doesn't want to stop at every gas pump it sees.. If I'm going to haul my carcass to work the Elio is perfect and practical. If I want to haul wood or a Christmas tree then a truck will be more practical.. The idea is the right tool for the job at hand.. Maybe I'll add a trailer hitch and haul 1/4 cord at a time ;) .. Hmm now the wheels are spinning.. The more competition there is the better off we are.. I want to see the Elio happen on many levels.. Even my 16 yr. old daughter loves the car and many of my coworkers want one as well.. Exxon Mobil loves your money so keep on trucking! I'll use my truck when and if I need it..

    Me too.

They make some really cool pop up campers that people pull behind their Harleys and Goldwings. Imagine how much of this great land of ours you could see on the cheap with an Elio and one of those lightweight camping trailers on a cross country road trip.

I don't know why but this vehicle has captured my imagination in a way no vehicle has since I was a kid reading about canard wing kit planes in Popular Science magazine.

Yup ever since you posted about the Elio I have been excited about it! This is the VW of the future in my opinion! This will be performance in terms of economy and affordability..
