Nope. Was told that he's the type of guy that would shoot before you could ask.

have a similar situation just up the road from me. Around 4 years ago the power company dropped a big sugar maple along the right-of-way beside a guy's house. I saw the tree laying there, partially on the guys' ground (nice guy, BTW), and I stopped and asked him if he wanted it gone. Told him I'd do it, free of charge, if he let me have the firewood and I'd drag the branches down in the woods... He said "no, I'm going to cut it up and use it here in the house, gonna cut it up this weekend......"

Well, that was four years ago.....that tree is still laying there, punked up and rotting into the ground........
    Shameful.....

I feel your pain Jack. I have a house I drive by every day that looks like that. I stopped in and asked and they said someone wanted it so it was taken. That was 1.5 years ago.

A dingbat is a wombat with a dent in it.
Still don't know why it then isn't called a dentbat. Dingbat has a snappier sound to it, I guess.

Kinda like the scary old guy down the street who leaves the light off on Halloween and everyone's afraid he's some kind of serial killer or something.
He's probably just an old guy who doesn't get out much.
Go watch "To Kill a Mockingbird".
    "Boo" Radley, I think.

It will take that stuff a long time to rot. Ask about it....if you can.

    Some one else's opinion.
    Doubt you'd get shot.
    Might be a nice guy,
    just say'n,
It's bothering you to drive by, ask.

    With the stacks out back;
I bet some neighbors say I'm nuts.
(well they might be right) :)
but I don't shoot those who stop & asks if they can buy firewood.
