I was told last week by the owner of Knights on North Belfast Ave, they have Corinth coming in at $230, Energex $249, L G at $280. The first two were due in last week and the last one due in today. Whenever HD gets them, they are $4.18 a bag, doesn't matter what the brand is.
Fwiw I read an article where NEWP sold everything they made last year just like this year. And they were still plentiful until recently. And for the box prices of 219 I have no problem buying and burning those if that's what is around.
I could get by with the GS if need be, But prefer to get something just a little better for the same dime. You saving some of those VWP for next seaons cold and burning box stuff in the shoulders? Or can you get by with box stuff all season?
Worst case is I will have about a ton and a half of Vermonts left at the end of the year if I don't find some shoulder stuff come the end of March. Burning the Blazers now because of ease of access. And honestly there is very little difference between these and the Vermont Wood. This coming year I think i will be buying exclusively from the box stores since my stove has no issues keeping me warm regardless of brand. More cleaning for sure but its only like 5 minutes a week lol. Its come to the point where I cannot justify paying 60-80 more a ton during the Spring specials for the "good stuff". And lastly I am adding a second stove this spring or summer so Btus will not be an issue
Jay pellets are no where to be found. I am lucky enough to be on the list and supposed to get a call for 25 bags of sets on Wednesday. Every place I call is sold out. Home Depot keeps telling me March 16 will be the next shipment. If I can get these 25 bags that will get me through till April hopefully. I was doing well as far as stock goes, but with these temps pellets are getting scooped up as fast as they can make them. I thought I would have enough to make it to Spring, but I was wrong, and lesson learned.
I stopped by our local version of TSC tonight (Family Farm and Home) after work to get some screws to finish up a project at home and they had pellets in stock. There was about a half ton up in the front of the store. 10 bag limit. They're stocking Ozarks now. Apparently they can't get pellets from Fiber By Products (Pro Pellets/Magic Spark) or Michigan Pellet Fuels, so they're having these brought in from Missouri. I know I said earlier today I wouldn't buy any, but I grabbed 5 bags. The Ozarks I picked up a week or so ago don't burn bad. I figure this is 5 more bags I can leave in my real stash. It's a sickness. I can't pass up a pile of pellets without buying some.
And your sick with it! Surrender all your pellets to me and you'll be on the road to recovery! Well, Not really. But I'll have your pellets and I'll feel just great!
I could sell them on Craigslist. Seems that people who have pellets are starting to list them on CL. I saw one listing for Pro Pellets at $7/bag. That's double what I paid for them last fall. If pellets get that expensive I'd just burn oil. Or hope corn or cherry pits go down in price.
The greed has risen to the top. I saw $10 bags of TSC and $8.00 for GS. What gets me is some one bought them cause they pulled the add 1 day after I saw them!
Remember they are all the same to some, So $10 for them. $18 to $20 if they know their pellets. But them again, If they know their pellets? They gotta full stash and prolly hang here with the pigs-hogs!
BINGO!!! I would never sell mine, spent too much time hogin' em up! My stash is sacred...I might have a problem...lol
Spoke with my pellet dealer in N Berwick Maine. He has nothing to offer and had top scramble to get in Corinth. He is limiting to 10 bags and has to charge 6 bucks a bag due to his pricing to get them expedited. Pricing from his source has increased pricing from a supposed increase in rail costs. His current pricing- IF he had any North Country-280 LaCrete-289 MWP-unavailable Spruce Pointe-they are not bagging any this year and selling in bulk only?
Heck at minus 1 degree on March 4 and still burning 2 plus bags a day, we are all using way more than "planned". By now, we are usually at a bag a day habit of big box stuff but Mother Nature still has us hooked on the high octane chit.
