Welcome Lmbrman. Glad to have you here at FHC!

It's a little more laid back than other sites. But we love firewood, the stoves we burn it in, and also the Chainsaws we cut it with

She was completed today! Mike did a real bang up job on her. Turned out super nice. The weather was great, the food was great -it was just a great day.
It was super cool to watch the process of porting the cylinder. Mike has a vid. Hopefully he will be by to post it up.

Yeah there's a difference there that 372 doesn't even bog down a bit! That thing is going to be one awesome firewood saw! It sure sounds sweet to boot

The chain on the 046 was filed too aggressive. I hadn't round filed a chisel chain in 2 years maybe. The 372 will get better with more run time. It's a bit tight still as it might have a gallon or so of mix through it.

Nope too much hook with a round file. I can square file quicker now than round file.

Paul's saw sound real good. You just had to rub it in about square filing, I pretty much gave up. Wish I bought a new silvey when I could have.

I'm real impressed with it. I'm glad I learned. I sold all the grinders I've had. I may get another swing arm in the future after the milling bug is gone.

A good round filed chain can be mighty impressive too imo. I know Mike done up some really good round filed chain and in turn tought me how and the chips were mighty impressive. Not sayin its better than square but then again dont feel too bad about givin up on square filin. Good sharp round is plenty nough good for me :)

Just ran her thru some very hard 25" white oak and she was great. I'll try and get a video or two.
