We don't eat them of course but I have shot dozens of them. Regular old #8 shells into the moving mound. I've never seen a mole come above ground and surface. I always dig them out for the satisfaction and have noticed that very often there is no damage to the mole. I think the shockwave might be enough to kill them. The fur is very soft and remarkably clean considering they roll around in the dirt all day.
i have just seen in a gun shop near me, they have a remington 870 express,3 shot for sale £275,now they are a good gun.may pop down and have a look later.
