The 90 degree weather ended finally and last night was cool wet and breezy so brought in a bucket O uglies and had the first fire of the season!!!! Got to test out the new to me $24 eco fan I picked up which was fun. This morning got 45 minutes of splitting and stacking in before breakfast. :stacke: Still pretty dark around 650 am, but what can you do . Goal of the day is to get a pile of rounds I've got split because tommorrow I've got an ash tree to take care of for my dads neighbor so stay tuned!!!
Pretty ugly and pretty apt to stay that way I haven't heard that in a long time , hasn't even popped in head in a long time
Way to get after it! The first couple "get the chill out" fires are my favorite! Looking forward to thread on that ash tree too!
Just a little pile in the middle of the stove. Ash, birch, maple nuggets ran her to 450 and cruised a while.
Then tore into the rest... Finished out the first row started the second All that was left Time to turn and burn!!!! Nailed it!!! Raked up the splitter fodder and put the tape on the stack 1.25 cord :stacke::stacke:done by 11:30, played ball with my son for a few and took our lunch break. After lunch...... we... go..... vertical!!!!
Forgot to add I saw a bunch of apple, ash, poplar, black walnut, cherry, elm and basswood go across the splitter beam
Nice work J. Dirt but you won't catch me splitting wood before breakfast! As for the fire, we too had a short fire this morning with the temperature bottoming out in the upper 30's.
If I only had a milk crate..... instead I found a perfect size handle operator and took care of some black walnut rounds I've had laying around
I see that. I'm not all that old, but to be 31 again, yeah. I mean, I still get after it, but I wait until it's colder out. I hate sweating.
You're makin' me feel like a slacker!!!! Great job fellers. Nice :stacke::stacke::stacke::stacke::stacke:
No its not...its clear full of air...and sunlight...and Guess ya had to go vertical after Jr. got to throwin those giant rounds on the beam and blowin the tires out, 'eh?!
