Why not wait until it freezes?

Last time I recall, it doesn't freeze as often in the UK as some think. At least not like serious dips in the mercury. But I was just watching some Bill Nye describing why that might be whereas the European mainland does.

I used to love those things! I can still taste them...but I won't spoil the memory with reality!

I guess everyone has an experience? I was really into twinkies but when they came back, something wasn't right.

Maybe we're missing the trans fat and preservatives.

My FIL heats 100% with wood and his favorite is Beech.

Not sure how your copper beech compares but I'd guess it's the same
We only have one kind of beech in the northeast.

The drying chart says 24 months until dry.
I would stack in a sunny area and only top cover. Let the air blow through the stacks

Bingo. The good Ol' North Atlantic Drift. Also you're never more than about 60 miles from the sea in the U.K. which means although we're at comparable latitude to Labrador day time winter temps are very rarely below 0 Celsius (circa 30 F) because of the moderating affect of the sea..

Leeds council won't part with any. I told them a couple of times I would clean up fallen trees but they don't want to know

No! Grab and snatch all ur back can handle. Wood is a resource that is reliable renewable, clean if seasoned and just connects us with our long past.. get all u can split stack cover.. good to go.

If anyone is a fan of the stories I can highly recommend the British TV adaptations from the 1980s/90s starring Jeremy Brett as SH. Also the recent BBC contemporary adaptation with Benedict Cumberbatch is well worth a watch :)

Yes, I have seen the Jeremy Brett and their may be some copies here. Personally, I think the latest Benedict Cumberbatch SH are rubbish; the first was not too bad but they got progressively worst as time went on with the last one just total complete rubbish.

BTU in abundance and I'm only a third of the way through the chopping stage.

    This may take some time....
