Like Horkn link shows they were a punk band from the Twin Cities. Between them and their Twin City mates the Replacements, they were without a doubt the most influential punk rock bands in the US.

Husker has a much harder edge of the two of them.

It's a Working Man's Dead kinda' day here in Massachusetts. This is Suzy Q she had to come inside for a while because it's raining outside with the leftovers of Jose'. She's giving a thumbs up to a fine piece of blue grass rock-a-billy Americana.

Along with deep purple Ive been listening to Motorhead extensively tonight and playing them now. Im a huge fan. Ive seen Motorhead a number of times over the years. Its hard to fathom the influence Lemmy has had on the world of rock and roll and metal. He was a roady for Jimi Hendrix, helped influence thrash metal. The list goes on. He lived the rock and roll life style and had no regrets! Long live Motorhead :dex::dex::dex:

This guy is a National Treasure. If you haven't seen David Bromberg and he comes to your area. Treat yourself and go see him.

I'll be there at the Iron Horse in Northampton Ma next week.

    .
I'm not a big metal fan, but absolutely agree Lemmy was a huge influence. I know early British punk bands even saw him as an influence.

What I like most about him is that you wouldn't see him as a rock star. He isn't what you think of when you think of lead singer.

He had a rough, weathered look about him a gravelly almost harsh voice, his head tilted back declaring war on the microphone, but the guy was still great...or maybe those things made him greater?

I read a post about him that I think sums him up perfectly. The comment was made about Motorhead's cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman".

The guy wrote "...when Lemmy covers your song, it becomes his"
