I guess I need to take a break from cutting and get some of this split. For the most part it is poplar and pine. There is some sweet-gum, oak, and locust there but not as much as I would like.

I didn't do as much as I had intended. I know one thing, it is hot and humid here to be autumn. I took some moisture readings on the largest pine and it was around 17.3 %. I plan on stacking the pine by itself as well as the poplar. I noticed some of the pine had a spiral growth to it. It also splintered more than I thought it would.

Oh yes. I had intended to make some changes like larger wheels to make it easier to move and the push button on-off is a bit hard to press. Over all that little splitter has done some good work for me. If I build some sort of stand for it I would not have to split kneeling down. Yes, that little splitter has saved me a lot of work.

Excellent looking job! I used to put the short splitter up on a set of car ramps. I had the ramps & it made the height much more comfortable. Keep up the good work.

I split about half a cord of pine myself today and it looked the same as yours did. Very stringy and twisted. Sure does slow me down when I have to deal with that.

I have some car ramps so I might try that tomorrow. Thanks for the idea.

It is a SpeeCo but many of these are very similar. Mine is a five ton.

All you would have to do is cut yourself a round the right height you need to block up the other end of the splitter.

Another thing you could do maybe is park your tractor there, use the car ramps to help get the splitter up onto your rear log carrier and split right on that.
I don't know what the height of that log carrier is, might be too high, but seems like that might work

If I let the lift down, it might be just the right height. I can't lift the splitter; it was a job for me to get it out of the boot when I brought it home. I will have to find something for a ramp.

I bet it was a real bugger to get it in the boot to begin with! You must have thought that hurricane flooding was going to be real bad huh?!

Especially since my foot was in the boot. The guy that I purchased it from lifted the heavy end and I lifted the lighter end. At home it was just me.
