Boy try to go to sleep and everyone goes to hating on my little ole furnace? Shame shame! It's adorable...in a crotchety, beat up, inefficient, Jerry rigged way. :)

Yeah it's a "bit" old. It's an old central floor furnace. The pilot was heating up the thermocouple once I lit it.

Horkn sounds like a great time. That KC135 is a sweet plane indeed! Cant believe that was Aarons first OT win

Yep - paid $100 more for a brand new washer (front loader) than repairman wanted to fix it some years ago.

We had 90s up until Saturday. Now we're in the 50s. Hopefully the cooler weather reaches you soon. :)

Today is supposed to be our last day in the 90's before dropping into the 70's. I'd love to have some 50's.

I have to be in Akron at noon Thurs. I hope to get out of there early enough to take advantage of the cooler temps Thurs afternoon and get a trailer load of wood out of the woods.

well today Vermont (technically Burlington at airport which is not real VT but you can get to VT from there) will have an official heat wave:jaw:

so you southerners understand we describe a heatwave as 3 consecutive days of 90 degrees plus! I know for some of you that's summer but we haven't had a heatwave since Aug 2015! in short I'm melting... so no fire for me:(

It’s been hotter here now than it’s been all summer. Too hot to get anything done outside.

Here is the right thread!

Today is last day of work. Got out early this morning. Vacation starts now. Installed two, ten foot 12" diameter culverts in trails in woods where they cross the same stream bed. Stream is bone dry with no rain in a while. Filled over them and did some clean up on both sides of the stream around them. Piled debris from last year's loggers and exposed all stumps around there so they will be easy to see from Excavator. Hoping one of my local guys can rent me one for a week while I'm on vacation. One is working on making it happen Thursday. Fingers crossed. C r a p l o a d of stumps to pull!:dex:

Made it to Ace today, Delta customer service is only open til noon, I called at 2 yesterday since the website says 8-8pm EST. Well, the voicemail says 8-2 EST :loco: , missed calling today too. Found one like this at Ace, all plastic, but the metal ones on Amazon are $16 for a ball that "might" work or $40 for the whole ball joint. I asked for a metal one but all they had was galvanized ring nipples. Meanwhile we stole the ancient fixed showerhead from the old bathroom.

Stove people came today to preform my annual maintenance. Passed with flying colors. They said the chimney didn't really need cleaned. Must be the new EPA stove I installed last Oct. With the old stove it would have been a mess.
Started to move the toppled stack. Didn't get much moved. Way to hot to work outside 90+ degrees. Temps are suppose to moderate come Thurs. Can't wait.
Made up stuffed peppers for tonight's dinner.
Finished up canning sauerkraut stuffed hot peppers.
Figure I will pick the remaining tomatoes from the garden, when the sun starts to go down, to can up salsa tomorrow. Maybe some juice or spaghetti sauce. We will see how many I have.
One more picking of green beans, digging the sweet potatoes and the garden will be pretty much finished for the season.

    Fridge is done.

I guess I'm making salsa tonight. Not really excited about it.

Boy, my tomatoes have been coming on since mid Aug. Already canned up 16 quart of spaghetti sauce and 12 quart juice.
I was on a 1 1/2 week trip last week so I concentrated on putting up beans, green peppers and banana peppers since returning.
I see a lot of tomatoes to pick. Don't know how many will be to far gone.
Salsa is definitely on the books for tomorrow. From there we will see what I have. Maybe some stewed tomatoes.
