So how does KC prepare for a snow event? We raid the banana rack.... I went to go get items for chili lastnight for the crockpot today. There was a few more thinking in the same lines I think....
The beer shelves get pretty empty around here when very bad weather is expected. Do you really use bananas in chili?
No, but just noticed that as I was walking through... Just chuckled as why all the bananas were gone...... I always thought it was bread, milk, and eggs...
So, do you just wave the bananas at the zombies, or do the bananas need to come in contact to be effective? Peel on, or off? Think of all those banana wielding people with no idea how to activate them. Should have taken a pic of the toilet paper aisle. I'll bet that was wiped out. Get it? Wiped out. This is too easy. Nothin' like eating chili in an enclosed space with a bunch of people for days on end. I could do this all day.
We usually have all the stuff we need here at home and stock up all the time. We make our own bread so that's taken care of also.
I always have extra stuff for chili on hand. TP, ground beef, beans, flour, yeast, .....pretty much anything needed to sustain us for quite a while. Just in case the zombies come. Ooooh, I better go get some more bananas though.
Pretty sure a body could live on nothing but chili for .... well, forever. Freeze it in egg cartons and fire it at the zombies with a wrist-rocket (but ya hafta hit 'em right between the eyes). Only in case of a banana shortage.
it is funny, does not anyone keep food in the house anymore. I mean our normal stock we could probably go a month at least. you would think the zombies are coming, and by the way you have to hold the banana by the stem like a pistol and yell bang really loud.
I used to make our bread. Just the two of us now. Goes bad before we can eat it. Nothing beats toasted homemade bread, real butter and some real jam.
Wrongo. You're just eating too slow. Made some of that frozen bread about 3-4 days ago. 3 loaves. It's been gone for 2 days. See, it can be done.
We make one loaf at a time sometimes or 2 depending on what we plan to eat for the week. It makes killer French toast.
I guarantee we could go three months easy without going to the store. The meal may be a bit eccentric for the last month but we could do it.
I hope we don't have anymore big weather storms. Now that you got me thinking of it, I think I will make a Chili though. Suppose to be cold all week. Dam, working 12 hours doesn't leave much time to throw a Chili together tonight. But, I can always have a cold beer or three and throw one together quick!
