Had the stove cruising nicely and thought I would show how it runs. This was about 35 minutes into a reload. The flue temp on a probe was sitting at 600, the stove top was sitting at 700 and climbing and had a beautiful slow and controlled burn going on. This was also at the early stages of the burn as the burn proceeds the stove top hangs at temp for a long time and the flue will drop off to about 200 degrees below the stove top.

My fire looks like that but unfortunely my flue temps and stove top temps do not.

Do you guys get a T-shaped slot cut in the top splits, from the hole pattern in the baffle? I had a smaller, long split top center once, and watched the end of it actually get cut off and fall. Pretty cool.

At the beginning of the load it will burn pretty hard right under the baffle holes but as the load settles down it burns pretty evenly and seems to do fine. Occasionally if I have a piece sticking out further than the other it will burn through it and the end will fall off.

Just put a few splits in to get me through to the night load. Last time unloaded the stove was last night around 8:30 and at 7pm tonight the stove top temp was right at 200 degrees. Didnt even need a match pulled the coals forward and placed the wood on top, less than 5 minutes later had nice flames. House was down to 69 tonight, it was 28 degrees last night and the house was 73 this morning, it's 55 outside right now all in all not to bad.

    Last nights load.
