Well, many of you have asked where I've been. It is nice to be missed! I admit I don't come around much in the summer, but we had a couple of weeks of temps in the 49's (back to 90 now though, Yikes). Anyway, those temps got me going and I've been moving wood to the wood shed, slowly. This year's wood is 3 year old Ash and Hedge. Great combo. Can't hardly wait to burn this stuff. I know, I know, it's not 9 year old Dennis stuff but should be pretty good. I'll let you know. Chief
I know what you mean about the temperature swings. Nearly 90 yesterday, be down in the 70's by Wednesday.
Welcome home Chief! Yes, you were missed. It's good to have you back. We've had a week of upper 80's and low 90's with no changes until at least Thursday. By the looks of things, I probably won't even move wood up to the house until mid October. We had summer days that were like fall now our first fall days are like summer. Weird weather. And the black walnut trees are loaded with the largest black walnuts I think I've ever seen.
'Bout time you got back. Just in time to start burnin'. So, should we start calling you part-timer? I've been doing the same since June and I'm soooo close to having the shed full, but the heat and humidity make it tough to do much. Peckin' away at it gets it done.
Good to have you back Chief!! The weather has been crazy this year. The temp. drops off Wednesday but still little chance of rain. Maybe next Monday, but that's a long ways off for the weatherman IMO.
Same here. Was really fall like early. Now summer like. My Oak trees are dropping leaves like rain but there just dead brown from the heat and dry conditions. Never seen them do that. I hope they will be ok. I don't have enough time to grow more oak trees.
It will be cold soon Scottie. I enjoy your posts on FB. Your family looks like so much fun. Life is short. Enjoy those kids while you have them. It doesn't last long. Chief
