I hang my saw off my winch.

I keep a variety of tools in an ammo can bolted to my fender. I leave saw gas and b/c oil on my header and fill up every two hitches.

    I made a scabbard from a road sign .
Originally it was bolted to the fender of one of my tractors but I built a gear basket for my trailer so it's been bolted to the basket .

I built it to hold 2 saws .

The 2nd best thing in this pic (besides the storage) is the non EPA approved "spout" on that one gal. fuel can. I'll be heartbroken if that were ever to break.

You have a internal leak on the 3pt would be my guess.

Buy a IT service manual and do all the hrydrlic test the book say to find and fix the problem.

As a last resort take it to a dealer.

Hopefully a moderator will place this into its own thread to help you out as we definitely want you to feel welcome here and get an answer to your question.

My tractor does what you describe, BUT only does so when I have the 3 point hitch up to high. This puts my tractor into relief (pushing oil out through the relief valve) which robs by front end loader of oil and thus it will not work. Since you say when you lower your 3 point hitch it still happens, this tells me your 3 point hitch linkage may be out of adjustment.

I am racking my feeble brain on what other problem you could be having, but I am drawing a blank. I am pretty sure you have a hydraulic pump going into relief problem and that is stemming from your 3 point hitch and has nothing to do with your front end loader.

How you get your 3 point hitch calibrated I am not sure. I would think at some point at its lower levels the 3 point hitch would no longer put your pump into relief, but I could be wrong. If that is the case then you have a serious issue because its not just a matter of loosening your 3 point hitch control level, resetting it, and retightening it.

A service manual will tell you what the pressures need to be, as well as where to check them.

Going to a dealership may or may not be a good plan. Here it is not, only because 85% of a dealerships service stems from warranty work. With the brain drain going on, these new diesel techs cannot diagnose older equipment. I have a good friend that works at the Caterpillar dealership and is noted as being one of their best mechanics, BUT when I asked him about adjusting my 1988 bulldozer's clutches, he had no idea how to do it. He admitted that if it did not have a computer hook up, he could not work on it. He's not a bad mechanic, he just has no experience with older equipment. But your dealership may not be like the ones here and can help you.

My greatest suggestion to you is to not overthink the problem. On my bulldozer I was having a transmission problem and people recommended I replace the transmission pump; a $1500 pump. I almost did, but after reading the tech manual several times I realized my transmission cooler lines were swapped after I had my radiator fixed. Since then I found my transmission pump has almost ideal pressures and is showing hardly any wear. When I was in school for being a diesel tech we were always told to always diagnose the problem and NOT be a parts changer. That starts with checking the simple things first.

Huge thanks everyone for the information, I just got the little ford a couple of months ago, and never had a front loader before on my tractors. So i'm gonna do a little leg work and see what I come up with. Once again thanks fellas.

Nice neat set up on the JD but like the bucket stuff could bounce out if you hit a big enough bump. Rather have mine on the rear.

Yes, I am getting ready to modify a few fuel containers because of the stupid spouts that glup, glup, glup, glup, and take forever to dispenser fuel.

I am a bit jealous, I will admit, at some of the nice kit I see on FHC. Anyway, I was thinking about this same topic the other day. I loaded the Beast, fuel, bar oil, etc on the carrier to go down and cut and load. After filling the carriers with wood, there was really nowhere to put the saws, etc. I ended up leaving them and returning to retrieve them. I was thinking at the time that I need some sort of box that can carry the saws when the carriers are full. I was thinking of building some sort of box that I can then hang off the back of the rear carrier after filling it.
