Fed Ex is famous for that in my area. They'll say they delivered, I'll get a text from Amazon, but nope, it's not there. It will finally show up 2 days later. Never had that issue with UPS or USPS, just FE.

Just lost power. Hope it's back before too long. Not a good day to go without AC.

Ugh. Start dragging the genny and extension cords out now. That will surely make the power come back on.

Weird, no storms over in Indiana. Someone hit a power pole or high demand due to AC use?

I've been having that issue with Amazon lately. Shipped via UPS, I get a delivery confirmation from them, but it was to the post office, who makes the final delivery. Normally, I'd have no problem with that, but I have a community mailbox with small package box's. So I have to pick up the big ones at the post office.

I can't like that. Yep, grab the generator and the power will be restored before you get it all hooked up.

surprisingly, Ive only lost power twice in the year and a half that Ive been in this house. Where I lived before, we would have fairly frequent outages, but usually not for very long. This was in a town that ran its own electric co, and had a well maintained grid. The two Ive had here, were for less than 2 hours total. My generator panel runs some lights, the heat, well, fridges and microwave. I should see if I can fit the AC onto it, I am far too dependent on the AC to go without!

I'm hoping to build a battery backup with an inverter at some point. I can get older still good telecom batteries for free from work, I would just need the inverter. I cant imagine my wife dragging the heavy generator out and trying to pull start it. Flipping a few switches is a much better solution if I am traveling.

I've heard of 'im. My saws are all either built by the factory...or myself...pretty stock mostly. I just built one of those fried rice 660's this summer...don't have any wood (or time) to cut with it though...:(

hey jake wells and brenndatomu ... I personally like me tools to look pretty most dont...
but I would rather have a rugged ol beater that runs great than
A very pretty one that dont!

lots to be said for ol saws trucks tractors etc... you don't have to worry about using them they scratches tell you how reliable they are..:)
