Because my house is small and new there's no where for a fire. The only spot they could get it was in the corner on a diagonal , which means my fan is also on a diagonal
Isn't it true that in the U.K. "pants" means underpants, or what we call underwear? Over here, pants and trousers are the same thing. Nice "pants" by the way
Since some say they work and some say they don't, lets look at the facts. The Ecofan listed earlier claims 100 cfm. If the room is 12x12x8, it would take 115.2 minutes to move all the air in that room... or 1.9 hours. And thats assuming the fan is running at max speed ... Edited
I don't think that math adds up. In a 12'x12'x8' room, there is 1152 cubic feet of air. Since the fan is moving 100 cfm, it would take 115.2 minutes to have all the air move directly through the fan blades. And that is not including all the air which gets entrained via the Bernouli Effect. I wouldn't even know how to calculate how much air is being entrained. Probably a better method is to ask the internets how many cfms are needed for a given room, but eh, I'm too lazy to do that. It's easier to just shoot my mouth off here
Hi Rumpy, I'm glad you like my pants! It took all of 10 seconds to dry them... lol Yes, pants mean underwear in these parts. Just one of those small 'lost in translation' niceties between our nations, of which there are a few... lol BB
Okay, not to highjack the thread or anything, but I have a short story. I knew an American who went to London and had the chance to coach a young boys basketball team at a school. The usual routine was for the boys to wear warm up pants (trousers) over their shorts. After about 15 minutes of warm up the boys would remove their trousers and finish practice in their shorts. One day, the coach called the boys around to end warm up and switch to drills. He noticed one boy kept his trousers on and said something like "all right guys, gather around!--hey Chris, take your pants off--today we're going to work on..." If the boy had not made such a strange face, the coach would have never thought anything of it. Later that day, the coach told the story to someone and they explained what pants means. I don't think he ever got in any trouble for his words.
The best fan I ever added was a ceiling fan in the stove room. We run it on low blowing up all stove season, it spreads the heat like nothing else. Best part, was finding a 60" fan at the depot for $40. Installed it myself 5 years ago
First fire of the year last night!!!! Had to test out the new to me fan it's fun and after a while I could notice a little air movement in the room
Good luck. Save those confederate dollars![/QUOTE] I actually have a $100 bill of confederate money, and think it's pretty cool just to own a piece of history from Civil War times (or, as we refer to it down here...the war of northern aggression )
