Fluffers is a term that made it's appearance here, not too long ago.

    I had to google it......:D

rebelduckman ... We now have 2 of them after liking one, but needing a wider air throw, we bought a second one. They're at our cabin (no power) and throw the hot/warm air nicely and quietly, under the loft area. They work best if you have a stove that gets hot all the way to the rear. The hotter the surface it sits on and the cooler the air it draws from the back... the better. That's how it creates it's elec power to turn the fan... the temperature difference between the base and those fins in the back. No temp difference and it won't work.

I was given the equaliser stove fan. It has 5 pitched blades and spins. So, it must be moving air. It doesn't seem to move much air, with the few fires I've since getting it in August. I hope it moves more air, once the stove gets really up to cold-season heating. It is neat to see it spin up, then slow as the stove cools.

FatBoy85 and Grahamt , we had baby gates around our stoves for a few years, yep, it works great! Especially heavy things like denim and comforters, I would dry them a bit to get any dog hair off, then hang them by the stove for the rest. And no worries on that word, silly banter here. Yes, I have a fluff cycle on my dryer. And don't google, some things can't be unseen.

We have an eco fan and still use it (no blower on our old stove). It worked well at my previous home, 45' stretch of open space. This house not so much, lots of separate rooms, the Backwoods Savage fan method does the trick!! One small quiet fan in bedroom and another in the laundry room blowing the cold air out.

Speaking of drying things by the wood stove, my wife has done that since we've been married. Saves a lot of dollars on the drying bill and also puts some needed moisture in the house.

Not sure about the fluffing up of some different clothes. But she will throw some things in the drier just before it get dry to fluff up rather than when it is wet then put by the stove. Is she doing this wrong?

No. The radiant heat will heat everything just fine. Unnecessary in my opinion.

Interesting. You have a similar stove as I have. I bought an Eco fan, soon after I bought my Jotul, and tried it for a weekend, brought it back on the following Monday.

I found that there wasn't enough room on the top of the stove for the recommended placement, so I had to have it at the front edge of the stove, as opposed to the rear edge. It didn't do a damm thing.

Yeah... that is the main issue with them. The stove has to have the highest heat top surface go all the way to the rear. Won't work on all stoves.

Thanks for posting this, I thought about getting one myself but my questions have been answered here. Opting for practicality.
