Well I have been giving this some thought and I want to make / buy a chainsaw scabbard made to hold a saw at a 45 degree angle in my bed walls. It would be something like this except it needs to be a system that I can hook I to the bed post holders and put 3 saws into.

Do any of you do something like this? It won't be for road travel but mainly in the woods for ease of use.

I bought a few of the fourwheeler mounts last year and gave one to dex, he has posted some pics of it. Thats a good idea on the truck, I think I would make it out of wood though as it would be easier on the chain.

I like the idea a lot! I could see that working out for my tractor also.

I would want it mounted higher than the top of my load to prevent any issues with a shifting load.

Great suggestion about making it outa wood . Plus..the picky side of me that doesn't like scratches and scuffs on my saws too often.....is thinking that the clutch cover on that saw in the pic is gonna get scratched to high-heck !!

Great idea but your dog doesn't look like it cares much about it.

These are one a time. But I do like it.

    Thanks Swags :)

That idea would be very handy Pete. I would be interested in what you come up with.

Dex looking at your atv mount that would be very very easy to modify for the truck rails! Where's a good place to buy a quality mount at?

i made one out of wood scraps from the sawmill ,2 boards and ripped a 1 .5 inch piece on the outsides to space them into a scabbord ,i took a piece of metal and sheetmetal screwed it to the skidsteer ,i left the bottom of the scabbord open so chips could just fall through

if you had multiple saws ,could bore cut slots into a 4x6 piece of lumber and mount it inside the bed up high

I have seen loggers bolt a 2x across the bed in front or behind a toolbox or just by itself tje n plunge cut slots in it to ride in the truck like that. Would only work on 20" or smaller bars though.

I use mine all the time. Had the Earthquake in it. But now the 55 Rancher rides in it.

I really REALLY like it. Two of the best gifts I got this year are from Swags.
I feel lucky to have made a friendship with him.

Here are more pics with different saws. It's as handy as a pocket on a t-shirt.

Man Dex I would feel bad for running g my saws if they all looked that good!

I would also worry that my wedges would fall out in that front pouch.
