    Well I posted my hauler earlier in the thread and it looks a bit different now. Loned it to my buddy this morning.... he's ok. Some inebriated peckerhead ran into him left the seen an hit another car head on. I sure hope he has insurance [​IMG][​IMG]

    That may not be as bad as it looks. It broke the joint but hopefully did not damage the transfer case. Might have to replace some control arms. I hope you can get'er fixed up good as before.

    Wow that must have been a pretty good hit to break it right at the ball joints like that. I wonder where the coil spring went. Nasty business.

    Hate to see that...and hit by a drunk on a Monday morning, weird.
    Hope he is insured well too...
    I've done enough crash repair to say that you may get lucky and just replace some bolt on parts...but I doubt it, things are often worse than they look...very often...

    That and the fender flare, front quarter, the door, new paint,axle is probably gone. Control arms, ball joints, alignment, tires, axle shaft, hub...there is thousands of dollars worth of damage if you take it to a collision shop. Maybe getting close to totaling it out how those insurance companies figure it.


    I too can't like that one.

    I certainly hope the people he ran into are going to be OK. It is sad that people get hooked on alcohol to the point they are drunk in the morning.

    I don't see it as you misleading me; it was me assuming and you know what that does :D. It was the "loan this morning" and I just assumed that the accident happened shortly afterwards. Even if the insurance company totals the truck, there is usually a buy back option. I would hate to see the truck out of commission.

    Yep I bought back a totaled car before. It does give you a salvage title, and at least this state it does not state from what from, IE flood or collision, of course carfax does. The salvage title further reduces the value if you don't drive it to the ground like I do. And if you want to keep it but not fix it you usually can't buy what you had for the money you get on a totaled vehicle.
