You've finally planted your flag. Here. Sort of. It should not be taken offense to, but.....we won... right, bunch of poor, peasant farmers with thunder sticks....and brash, brazen, cunning, fierce determination But we still love our cousins...cause that's how we roll!
Right ....ex-patriot? He's listed his locale as Upstate, NY..... my 2nd childhood home-away-from-home
Well, in all the time I have been living in Cyber life, I have never received such a warm welcome from a forum. May I thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my wood stash - Cheers! I do jest about the Motherland, but the Motherland for me is Scotland, where my true Mother came from and that is where my heart is and will remain until my ashes are scattered on her fertile soil. My Father was an Englishman and I'm equally as proud to have his blood in my veins. I can sit on the fence when people moan about those 'Bloody English!' and those 'Heathen Scots!' lol Back in the room... My wood stove is made by a UK company called 'Clearview' and the model is the Pioneer 400P. I dare say she is just a slip of a stove compared with some of the glow boxes, Stateside, but she does all I need & more for my wee cottage. The main features of this stove are: Large viewing window, heavy rolled steel construction, Cast iron door and a fancy looking plinth for storing kindling or logs within. I'm very happy with the output of the stove and in time I will master the controls for prolonged burn times, which in turn will slow down the decline of my stash of hardwood. Wood in the stash: Ash Oak Cherry Plum Silver Birch Maple Pallet Wood A picture of 'Destroyer' below. A homemade kindling chopper of special magnificence. More pictures to follow. Until that time... Love it Bob! Salutations from Devon. As you've already found out for yourself there's some fine folk on here and lots of good knowledge. Sounds like you've got a great job, which park do you work in? Looking forward to seeing the stash too
I'm lucky, I've got a wee bit of Scots and English blood in my veins. But my heart will always be in the Highlands.
Hi Jim, Thanks for the 'Blighty' welcome I work in Arnos Park, Enfield, North London. Before Arnos I spent 25 years just across the way in Broomfield Park. I prefer Arnos....More TREES!!
