I have two huge tanks filled at $2.09/gal, then locked in the winter at $2.29/gal. Average use is 500 gallons a heating season. So far, no heat on. but we have 6 folks taking showers, washing dishes and cooking.

Total nutty day at work, Boss took off a great day to miss out on! Buggy is in the shop for repairs, That went fairly smooth except no rent a car. They drove me up to the place and didn't have one ready/ Were going to upgrade me to a Chebby suburban, But I said no thanks. Didn't want that gas hog...... Took a bit for them to get a Jeep ready. And I'm late for my brewski's............

Shut the stove off about 10 AM and then fired it up again at about 1:30
    Been chugging away every since.

Last week we had 80-90 F and now boom, cool and wet.

A couple big boomers rolled through mid afternoon and dropped a buttload of pea sized hail and tons of rain.

Really helping to dampen the fire danger around here.

Making all the dust a real muck mess too.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your fellow worker. Sad indeed to be called at such a young age.

I have had trouble with junk brake parts too. They usually have 3 grades of brake pads and i take the middle of the road option. The tolerances on those pads are so off i would have had to grind them a bit to slide easily. Instead i returned them for another set only to find the same thing. went back to the store. I upgraded to the premium option and it was worth it. perfect tolerances, came with the brake hardware (the tin slides that fit in the bracket) and packets of grease. they stop way better and smoother. going this route from now on.
I cant believe that for new premium pads and rotors i spend about $100 and 1-2 hrs of my time (and i take my time and clean it all up with a wire wheel) while the mechanic quotes somewhere upwards of $500.

Seems it was a rough Monday for me too J.

    • Found out a friend had to have a third of his lung removed due to cancer-this is at least his third round of cancer issues over the last 10-12 years.
    • Found out another elderly acquaintance is in rehab due to pneumonia plus she has brain cancer and starting chemo for that. She lost her son to cancer a few years ago.
    • Got a message from my neighbor that they had to put one of their 2 remaining labs down. Max was a great dog. They lost Molly a year ago and Angel is left-she is moving slowly as well. I knew these guys since they were pups of the same litter.
    • Dad was transferred to a rehab in Mass on Monday. He fell twice at home last Thursday and is not getting around well at all lately.

Life is not a bowl of cherries lately and the box of chocolates seems to be full of ones I dont like.
