I did haul some popular in the "trunk". I cut up an old popular that had fallen at my sister's house. When I would visit her, I would bring back what I could. I am still interested in a small trailer. If I find a good deal on one I might borrow the money (I don't like doing that) and get it.

Hauling a little wood on a small trailer pulled by a car is no different than hauling 5-6 adults inside your car...and you wouldn't worry about your transmission doing that, would you?
Yeah, keep an eye open...there are cheap, and even free trailers (if you don't mind a lil fixin on it) out there sometimes

No, you are correct there. It is just that after having to replace the transmission I am nervous LOL. Having a small trailer; I might could even learn to back one :D, would be nice. I have had to haul 2X10s inside of my car and that makes me nervous because even a small accident could see that wood smashing my head in. I might ask my BIL to keep a look out as well, he knows a lot of people. I could have hauled the two loads I did yesterday in one trip with a trailer.

Backing a small trailer is way harder than backing a 16 or 20ft trailer. And if it sits so low that you can't see it, that makes it almost impossible.

Years ago when we were just starting here, I borrowed a trailer to hitch to the tractor. I tried backing the trailer and gave up. I would unhitch the trailer, pull it out of the way, turn the tractor around and then pull the trailer up and hitch it back.

I use to haul wood with a car n trailer , only difference now is , same trailer I pull it with a jeep.
A lot of people have trouble backing a trailer cuz they go way to fast , go very very slow and adjust steering as needed, if you can't see it put flags on rear corners

That was what I was going to say. Screw PVC pipes to the rear corners or driveway markers or even just some small straight sticks with flags, just something so you can see what the rear of that trailer is doing if it's out oF sight.

You need to practice when you are not depending on the outcome. Practice and practice. Go to YouTube for hints. Sometimes seeing it and having it explained at the same time does wonders. The shorter the trailer, the more difficult is the back up.

These magnetic telescoping trailer hitch alignment tools work great for hooking up the trailer, and then once moved to the back corners of the trailer, make it easy to see for backing.

That is pretty neat. Guess what else they could be used for? How about converting one into a firewood length marker that can be varied; 16 inch log, 18 inch logs, 24 inch logs.
