Going to go to the ISU Cyclone game. Pickimg up my youngest son after he gets off work. Should turn out to be a fun time.

Made sammiches, have chips, watermelon and a couple beer and Dew. He'll probably have the beer, I better stick to the Dew. :)

Just finished this. Big gust of wind just as I started. A little crooked but just what I needed. Now I gotta get back to work.

Ugh, it's been one of those days. My wife's car has been at the dealer for 3 weeks for warranty engine work. Got a call today that they put it back together, and it wouldn't start. Alternator seized while it sat. Now that I think of it, that's likely the noise I was trying to figure out before the timing tensioner broke. Just not an expense that I can easily swallow right now. Not even really worth towing out to fix it.myself.

Went to pick up some really dry firewood about 45 mins away for this winter, and picked up some fairly wet red oak instead. I can add that to the 19-20 pile, which already had enough.

I just need a break.....and maybe some more whiskey.

    Definitely more whiskey

Foggy morning again today. Rain yesterday. Should be clearing up later today. Bookkeeping this morning and a Blue Jays game. Started knitting on a Cowichan sweater for my son-in-law. It has a curling motif on it. I have always wanted to do one so my daughter picked the colours and sent me the yarn. If all goes well, I will make a second one for her.

I hope everyone is having a great long weekend.

So we're up north at the camper, hanging out with Mom since my oldest brother went back home after a month staying with her.
We got up to the cabin/ camper about 2:30 yesterday. We had to start the furnace in the camper last night, and I got the jotul Allagash gas stove going to get the cabin a little warmer. It was rainy and cloudy yesterday up north.

I fixed the insinkerator in the cabin for Mom, and my wife did a ton of dishes for Mom and cleaned up her kitchen for an hour and a half while we all had bloody Mary's.

I was woken up by the new neighbors b&s generator. That stupid thing is so loud. It starts and stops automatically. It actually wakes me up. It's more annoying than the train is, that is down the road 100 yards.

These neighbors spend all this $ on everything else, but cheap out on the Genny and get this loud pos, instead of something that's actually quiet. SMDH

That and I went to check on the state of the battery on the pontoon, and luckily it was charged. The odd thing was that the marine battery was re installed as the starting battery, and the spare battery I bought over the 4th of July that I had just to run the running lights, and had to do a bit of rewiring to do that.

So, the battery elves visited, because mom said that our local friend Jim, didn't fix it. Hmm

What a nice surprise! I got back from my walk and asked campinspecter what he wants for breakfast. He said Swedish pancakes so we went down to Telegraph Cove to the Seahorse Cafe and had Swedish pancakes. It was neat watching the boats going and coming in the fog.

I'm at the beach. I don't have to work next week. Got a little bourbon in my glass. Life is good.
