    Water pumps are typically a 100k part. With 257k on it, it sounds about right, unless the last pump was less than that amount of miles. Was there any warranty on the pump you changed? Sometimes they have a lifetime warranty and you get the part for free.

    Probably the pump is run by the timing belt and gets replaced when you do a belt replacement. If the belt also needs to be done, do it now. Look at the tensioner too.

    Depends on the year, Toyota has gone with timing chains for around 10 years now.

    Yep. That's typical Toyota architecture. Replace all the wear parts at once. Then done.... That's how it is on our v8 4runner.

    A good childhood friend of my wife came out to Texas for 8 days. They all went to Dallas area and rented a house for 3 days, Six Flags etc. We went to the Palo Duro Canyon today and zip lined across a portion of the canyon. I still don't like heights.
