Awesome purchase - especially so close and handy. Many years of hard work and fun ahead of you.

We used to go down once a month to ride, get away, hunt, get away, camp, drink, get away, etc :) But it has gotten less often every year. Ive had more kids, my Father has his hobbies. Its only 5.5 hrs from here. Butbit seems like forever with all the things I have to do now.

One day, I plan to make it my home. Nice Cabin on the side of a mountain! :)

Good for you. Nice to see it all falling in place and so close to home. You will enjoy countless hours up there, no doubt. Best of luck to you.

That is awesome. The 10 acres on parents place is enough to keep me busy & in shape in my limited free time but would really like to buy the 10 acres to their north,if its ever up for sale.Much flatter ground/easier access to all of it,no water or electric on it,both properties were originally part of a 40 acre forest that was split in 4 sections back in the late 1800's for 4 decendants of the owners who parents bought the property from in 1981.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate it. And yes, the work is really going to begin now. :drool:But I love that type of work. Felling and processing firewood, tree trimming, trial maintenance, landscaping, etc. You know that Stihl combi-tool I bought with the pole saw and weed whacker attachments? I foresee it and the Stihl chain saws getting a lot of use! chainsawsmiley.gif

LOFL! Well, let's see. I'll make it short and sweet for you. What haven't I managed to get stuck at one time or another on the property!

    Gas, that's fantastic news.
    Really so glad for you.
We have about 8.5 acres, and it's nice, but I'd love to have a lot more.......to a point.
    Now, get workin'!:axe:

any stone slides or stone pikes on your land? If there is, use them first to build a split base and then put the chips/needles on TOP of them......

    So, when is the GTG?

Also you will have your work cut out for you. I had 100 wooded acres before and it was a lot of work to keep up. Actually we could not keep up, even with heavy equipment. I did love terraforming though, and putting in roads and trails. I pared way down to what I have now. But good luck!

Thanks guys. I really appreciate it. I still can't believe it. o_O Now I just wish I had way more time to get to work on it! You know when you have one, or more, things you really want to get to work on because it is big time important AND you like or love doing it. But you have to sit at work and can't! :(

And it gets dark earlier and earlier. Waaaaaaaaaaa! :( Scotty. We need an even bigger crying smiley for when I really want to wiiiiiiine about something!

LOL. Although that would be fun Woodwidow, I don't think it is going to happen. The budget is going to be tighter now. I have a feeling the taxes on this property are going to go up next year. And the additional bills are going to mean tightening the financial belt.
