Coil? Had a vehicle in which the battery developed a bad cell, but checked out fine. Finally got a new battery and then had the same thing happen. Replaced the coil and everything was good.

Or perhaps there is an issue with the battery cables? That would account for intermittent charging and contact for starting also.

You've probably thought of both these things and are way ahead of me (easy since I know little about cars :emb:)

I recently started having issues with my 08 F-250 Super Duty starting. Checked battery, fine. Checked connections, fine. Took it to my brother's garage and after checking it over they explained to me that the starter bolts had come loose. They put some lock tite on them and tightened them up really good. No more problem. Apparently it loses it's ground. I've never had that happen over all theses years and many different trucks. I was also told sometimes the end of the wire connector at the starter corrodes and needs to be replaced. That was not the case with mine though.

campinspecter's last wood load was western red cedar and it went straight into the basement for burning as it was so dry. The basement smells awesome.

Going to be a great day. It is Friday before a long weekend. It is payday    The weekend looks like the weather is going to be good on Sunday and Monday. The Blue Jays won last night.

I hope everyone has a great long weekend.

Nope. I am working today so if there is cookies, it will be his baking. BESIDES I have to lose some summer fat from ice cream and holiday eating.

Taking the tired corolla (257K) into the shop for an appointment this morning.

Something growling in the belt driven area. Changed the water pump once and I think the alternator has been changed also. Or maybe an idler pulley?

Engine is strong yet. Only thing that works intermittently is the clock display.

So, what's with this weather? Like somebody sent down the arctic air a month early. It's downright cold in the morning. Might as well close up the pool.

    It's the water pump....again.

Trouble is, no one had the correct one for this car-I'll have to bring it in again next week.

I'd consider packing it full of dielectric grease if that was the case.
