The one time I have been robbed, it was from someone driving by and seeing the four wheeler through the open garage door...came back that night and squeezed it between my Bronco and the wifes car...thought I had it blocked in but...no.
The garage was new and the landlord didn't have the overhead doors in yet...

We had our share of problems a few years back.. When GM closed over half the town turned into rentals and that's not a joke... The Villiage had a major crime wave. It died off and they managed to stop it almost completely but lately little things have been happening. Tonight was the first time in a LONG time. It doesn't help that we live close to a very crime riddled city.... I won't throw names out I don't want to offend anybody even though they probably already guessed what I'm eluding to.

That sucks, especially since you found footprints.
Driveway motion sensors are pretty inexpensive, I have a few for the wildlife and they have a good range. Just a thought.

Morning all. Up early this morning as campinspecter is headed out for another load of wood. Deep fog this morning. This has to be the longest summer with no westerly wind in the afternoon. Yesterday had gorgeous sunshine and no wind so it actually got warm. I went down and picked blackberries for Mom and they are slowly getting ripe. Quite juicy as well considering how little rain we have had but it has rained at the right time I guess. The blackberries are at the bottom of slope so they get more moisture.

Off to work again this Monday. Last week before the mayhem starts.

Only 3.5 days of work left for the week. I'm counting down already...that ain't good.

10 days off at the beach sounds pretty good though. Hopefully there wont be any huricanes.

What?!!! One does not have to guess she knows nothing about cows and calves. A calf cannot drink that much milk so why should you not drink what the calf doesn't?

And no doubt that trail behind your property does not help you; it just makes entry easier for the maggots.

Ugh, I feel very safe at my house, the only problem is that theres a trail right from my backyard into the conservation area. One of the trails comes down the hill and turns left about 75' from my back yard. When the dirtbikes miss the turn, they are turning around just before my backyard. Makes me nervous that they could come and go at any time of day and nobody would ever see them on my street.

Pete rig up your own security alarm.
I used a set of the garage door sensors they work great i mounted them at about 18 inches off the floor in both the garage door and entry door. Hook them to relay and contactor. When they are working normal they trip when the line is broken to reverse the door. Mine set off the security lights and an alarm that blasts at about 95 db. Works great.

I am ordering a couple pico buzzers they are really loud they will be getting mounted outside in very discrete locations and wired to a laser eye setup. It will cover my doors and windows and be on a timer for night time. It's also going to trigger cameras that will save footage off site if I wire it up correctly. I may need to make my own circuit board and controller for it so I can use a trigger pulse to set off the cameras. It should keep it very low power that way.
