I've been getting rid if some bark on this part of the trail, it's raised it some but I'll be putting about four loads of pine needles which will help out even more.
When we came home with our new adopted dog, I decided to take the weed wacker to a certain part of our trails since the weed were so high so it would be easier when walking the dog.
I did some work here which will give us double the space ( maybe more) to put the snow from the driveway, it will loop around to meet up with that trail I put in to the sandpit. At a certain point once you drive in it goes to the left, there is an old trail that goes straight to the neighbor's house. I'll be taking the pole saw back in that area to take care of a chit load of dead pine branches.
Tilli is from Texas and her three pups were all brought to Syracuse via helping hounds and my nephew has adopted Tilli's son. He had adopted Walker before Tilli came up so when we were down in Syracuse for a party they were telling and showing us pictures of Tilli who just had come in so the wife had been talking about getting a dog for a few months so we couldn't say no.
She's doing good so far, it will be nice if I can keep a few trails plowed in the winter time so we can walk her plus have a place to chit. She loves the heat from the wood stove fire so I'm thinking she'll like this winter............inside.
Thank you thewoodlands for giving a rescue a home. Every adult rescue I have taken in has required an adjustment period, but usually settled in and became a valued member of the family. Time and patients.
I did some clearing on the trail I started yesterday, it gives us a loop around to the trail that runs to the sandpit. Pic 0507 is what I started with, 0509 & 0510 are two pines in the middle of the trail that will come down, 0512 is the trail after I cut & bucked up the pines that were taken down and 0513 is the trail ready for rhino or walking. Pic 0514 is what I started out to do, make a trail back in and then hang a left which should be done by the middle of next week.
The Kelpie is a great dog, my farther has two of them. The breed first came from a town called Casterton, a couple of hours down the road from me. Good looking woods you have there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks leoht , the previous owner should've thinned out the pines many years ago but since he didn't, I've been doing it more the past two or three years since we're ahead on the firewood. All the trail work that I did around the house lot has been used plenty since we brought Tilli home, I should have two or three more trails in by the end of October.
Thanks Locust Post , she has her moments but we couldn't be happier. She really hates chipmunks and it drives her crazy when the turkey show up.
Yes kelpies need plenty of exercise. Tilli will really enjoy running around in those woods. Now you just need some sheep for her to herd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Back working in the woods tomorrow on some trails after spending the last two days getting some car & truck stuff done. I have about 2-3 pine that will come down on that new trail I started last week so that will be finished after I pull the stumps.
