The weather guru's are telling us sub-zero for the next couple nights with daytime highs in the teens.

I know it's winter and all, but for cryin' out load, this is Pennsylvania not the Yukon.

Nobody on this site really dreads cold weather..... Otherwise we'd never get play with our toys!

03 Jan 2014 it went down to -49*
25 Jan 2014 it went down to -52*

The record lowest high of the day was -15 set in 1968.
02 Jan it went to -19*
03 Jan it went to -35*

According to the 30 day forecast the vortex will leave our area Thursday morning and it will be above freezing from there on out. Finally looks like we can relax.

I like to get the NOAA weather forecast. No drama! The next week is, you got it, cold cold and yet more cold.
    .LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/...

QUIET BUT COLD WEATHER EXPECTED FOR MUCH OF THE LONG TERM PERIOD. COLD HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD INTO THE REGION BEHIND THE DEPARTING LOW WELL SOUTH OF THE REGION. MODELS CONTINUE TO TREND FARTHER SOUTH WITH THIS SYSTEM WITH NO SNOW PREDICTED FOR OUR AREA MONDAY. A SECOND FRONT CROSSES THE AREA TUESDAY. ONLY MINIMAL MOISTURE WITH THIS FRONT SO EXPECT ONLY A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS...MOSTLY IN THE MOUNTAINS. ANOTHER COLD HIGH BUILDS IN FOR WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. THE RETURN FLOW ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE HIGH WILL BRING WARMER TEMPS IN FOR FRIDAY AND POSSIBLY UNSETTLED WEATHER FOR NEXT WEEKEND.
