Ditto here.... 'cept I will wait until we actually need to run the stove...
Usually cooler and dryer then too.
Blocked off the chimney and oak... tub of damp rid inside...

    Bear...
I hear ya about the high places.

I have a bit of ladder work, but it is pretty easy stuff with minimal effort.

Anymore I will not carry stuff of any substance up a ladder very far.

Things are shaping up to get that nasty old beam out today.

Just have to get the bolts out and a few other things out of my way (Nails, staples etc)

With the eclipse coming this morning it will likely mess with my schedule, but maybe in a good way...
It will keep things cool

never looked at the eclipse ... was too busy cleaning up the air cleaner for the Atlas engine.... BTW...heard about another engine we might be getting.. a Swedish 2 cylinder 2 cycle about 8 tons of engine..... coming from the Mystic Seaport Museum. they are making room for a Wolverine engine, 3 cylinder, made in Bridgeport , CT.

Well had a chunk of Oak sitting on the front stoop for about 7 years catering to the wife's plants as a stand, decided Sat. to put it to use.It is to be 82 years old and what Skeeter and I would call spalted Oak and it happens to have started its life the same year as my father was born 1935. So I began this project not knowimg WTH i was going to do with it but decided it would make a nice place to set my bourbon and cigars on . So as I still have not figured out after 56 years how to take the sensible route I went to work and realized that I was getting old. Could have done it easy and made a frame and added four legs 5* miter top and bottom but oh no that would have made sense and been too easy. So i decided it would have three legs and spent 2 minutes figuring out where these three legs would be located, the math was the easy part 360* divided by 3 equals 120*.Ok next task was to lay it out so I brought out my trusty speed square and after about 2 minutes (should have come instantly or use to come instantly) laid it out and went to town. Anyways will upload some pics when i get it all waxed up and looking good, not a fan of crosscut but the rings are kinda nice telling how old it is without question. Fun stuff learning to accept I am OLD ! Almost forgot this is the pellet head forum it is White Oak and the legs are reclaimed pallet oak as well.
